Angelica acutiloba is a perennial herb that originates in Japan. So, it is commonly known as Japanese angelica. The root of A. acutiloba is one of the most widely used traditional medicinal herbs in Asian countries, especially in Korea, China, and Japan. Traditionally, it has been used to treat allergic diseases and gynecological conditions. In current studies, the root has shown anti-inflammatory, antitumor, and immunostimulatory effects. Other researchers reported that Angelica root contains ferulic acid, angelicide, brefeldin A, succinic acid, and adenine.
