Chamaecyparis obtusa, also known as hinoki, hinoki cypress, and Japanese hinoki, is native to Japan. Green showers in hinoki forests are loved as they contain the most amount of phytoncide among the trees. The hinoki tree is well-known for the high-quality timber and its aromatic essential oil. The essential oil from C. obtusa has been reported to have anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive efficacies in several articles. According to a scientific study, a hot water extract from C. obtusa leaves showed anti-oxidant and anti-aging efficacies in vitro and in vivo.
