Prunus davidiana is a wild type of peach tree native to China and endemic to Korea. The tree is often found in mountainous areas of Korea. The pink flowers bloom in the spring, and people in Korea use the flowers to make a rice pancake with flower petals known as “hwajeon” in Korean. In Korea, the flowers, fruits, leaves, and seeds of P. davidiana have been widely used as traditional medicine, and the flower has been used as a tea for years.
