Eriodictyon californicum is an evergreen shrub found in southwestern USA (California and Oregon) and Mexico. The common name of E. californicum is yerba santa, which means 'holy plant.' Yerba santa was used in traditional remedies by Native Americans to treat colds and asthma. When the Spanish settled in California, it became very popular, and they named the plant "yerba santa." Yerba Santa Extract-F is an extract of fermented yerba santa by Lactobacillus lactis. Through fermentation, the beneficial active ingredients can be isolated from the complex molecules.
