Robinia pseudoacacia, called black locust and sometimes false Acacia, is widely cultivated in temperate regions. Black locust is native to the southeastern United States but has been widely planted and naturalized in many countries, including Korea and China. In Korea and China, the dried flowers have been used as folk remedies for treating cystitis, nephritis, and nephrolithiasis, while the seeds have been used for treating cough and asthma. It has fragrant white blossoms blooming in May and June, yielding high-quality monofloral honey.
