Algae Extract is a complex of two species of algae. There are thousands of brown algae species that play an important role in the marine environment. Some species have been used as food for a long time in East Asia. Most brown algae contain the pigment fucoxanthin, responsible for the distinctive greenish-brown color. Brown algae also contain fucoidan, a sulfated polysaccharide with an average of 20,000 molecular weight. This active compound is known for its anti-inflammatory activity.
