Adansonia digitate, commonly called baobab, is native to Africa. The trees are renowned for their longevity, possibly more than 1,100 years. For medicinal uses, seeds mixed with water are used to treat diarrhea and manage fever, and a decoction of the powdered seeds has been used for coughs. The seeds’ nutritional values include minerals, vitamins, and polyphenols. Benefits as a skin care agent will be anti-oxidant and potentially anti-aging.
