Myrciaria dubia, commonly known as camu camu, is a small bushy tree that grows in flooded areas of the Amazon rainforest in Peru, Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela, where its fruits and leaves are used for medicinal purposes. It bears a red/purple cherry-like fruit, which has been famed for its extraordinarily high content of vitamin C, around 60 times more than an orange. Besides vitamin C, camu camu contains beta-carotene, several different flavonoids, gallic acid, ellagic acid, amino acids, and others.

Camu camu is used for viral infections, including herpes, cold sores, shingles, and the common cold. It is also used for eye conditions, including cataracts and glaucoma. Other uses include the treatment of asthma, atherosclerosis, headaches, and osteoarthritis.
