Cola acuminata is a plant in the genus Cola that lives in tropical Africa. The plant`s fruits contain about 2% of catechin caffeine, theobromine, and kolatin. It is usually fried, chewed, and added to tea, milk, and porridge. Cola nuts have been used in Africa as traditional medicine and food coloring. Especially in private medicine, cola nuts help digestion and are sometimes used as a remedy for coughs.
