Sasa quelpaertensis is a species of bamboo grass native to South Korea, and endemic to Mt. Halla in Jeju Island. Young dried leaves are drunk as tea or used as folk remedies for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. S. quelpaertensis is a rich source of phenolic anti-oxidants such as p-coumaric acid. Jeju Jori developed from S. quelpaertensis demonstrates anti-oxidant and skin brightening activities.
