The major active compounds derived from A. dahurica are the major coumarin compounds, phellopterin, isoimperatorin, imperatorin, alloimperatorin, byakangelicin, isooxypeucedanin, and pimpinellin, which are reported to have remarkable anti-cancer and anti-bacterial effects.
