Prunus persica is a deciduous tree which bears edible juicy fruit also called a peach. The plant is native to China belonging to the genus Prunus which includes cherry and plum, in the family Rosaceae. The pink flowers with five petals are produced in early spring before the leaves. The fruits have yellow or white flesh, a delicate aroma, and skin that is either velvety or smooth in different cultivars. Peach was brought to India and Western Asia in ancient times. It was brought to the Americas in the 16th century and to Europe in the 17th century.

The leaves of the peach can be used as medicinal herbs. It is used in various ways, such as using the juice of the peach fruits and leaves to treat damaged skin or taking a bath with hot water containing peach leaves. The leaves contain components tannins, amino acids, flavonoid and phenol and so on.
