Mentha arvensis, commonly called as field mint, wild mint or corn mint, is a herbaceous perennial plant generally growin g to 10~60 cm tall. The leaves of M. arvensis has reasonably strong minty flavor with a slight bitterness, and they are used as a flavoring in salads or cooked foods and also used for teas.
M. arvensis is often used as a domestic herbal remedy, being valued especially for anti-septic properties and its beneficial effect on digestion. A tea made from the leaves has traditio nally been used in the treatment of fevers, headaches, diges tive disorders and various minor ailments. It is also used as a
n insect repellent.
