Camellia japonica is a flowering shrub native to Korea, Japan and China. It is called the “Rose of Winter” because the flowering season is between the winter months of December and March. Camellia seeds are harvested for camellia oil, known for its effect on hair treatment and is used in a wide range of hair care products such as hair oil, hair essence, and more. After oil is extracted from camellia seeds, the husks and residuals of the seeds remain. We upcycled the seed residuals and developed it as an ingredient for facial scrub.
