Dokomari fruit, also called Changyija in Korean or cocklebur in English, has unique appearance of having thorns on all sides. Based on knowledge from Traditional Korea Medicine, to pull out the thorns on the surface to remove toxicity, GNS conducted pretreatment by roasting the dokomari fruit to remove the thorns and to eventually remove microorganisms and toxicity. After removing the thorns, the raw materials were soakd in warm water at 50-60℃ to extract the active ingredients hidden in the hardness of the shells.
Dokollagen, an extract of dokomari fruit by GNS, is extracted by applying the megasonic extraction method after two stages of pretreatments. Dokollagen is an active ingredient that has successfully applied for a patent as it has been confirmed to be excellent in improving various skin conditions such as improving DEJ, anti-wrinkle, anti-glycation, anti-aging, and improving skin elasticity.
