Supercritical Fluid Extraction

초임계.jpg

SFE is an extraction method using a supercritical fluid as a solvent. Supercritical fluid has a good dissolving property, diffusivity, and permeability so it is advantageous for extraction. The most common supercritical liquid is carbon dioxide, and it allows for the extraction of nonpolar oil-soluble active compounds. Also, nonpolar residual pesticides are effectively removed by the SFE process.
