Multi-stage Fermentation

Multi-stage fermentation is a fermentation process that adds a cultivation process to the primary solid-state fermentation or liquid fermentation that has traditionally been used in the oriental medicine.

By adding a secondary fermentation process after the primary fermentation process, it removes or neutralizes toxins in the raw material that may exist. In addition, after going through a pretreatment step to maximize the extraction efficiency of active ingredients, it obtains active ingredients from raw materials under optimal conditions through the secondary fermentation. This method has the advantage of being able to develop raw materials having excellent effects on the skin by maximizing the active ingredients of natural products.

Representative examples include acetic acid fermentation and TSL (Two stage Solid and Liquid Fermentation), which is our own development platform.

- Acetic acid bacteria aerobically oxidize ethyl alcohol using oxygen in the air to produce acetaldehyde and then acetic acid (acetic acid, vinegar).

- TSL is a process of obtaining active substances through the second liquid fermentation process of raw materials that have undergone the first solid-state fermentation process.
